Martyn Lucas has over twenty years experience as an artist, curator, educator and community arts project manager. From 2003-13 he managed a public art gallery in Greater Manchester, delivering a wide range of exhibitions, learning and outreach for adults, children, young people, families and community groups.

Martyn has commissioned and worked on innovative exhibitions and participatory projects with a range of artists, curators and organisations, including the Arts Council Collection, Howard Hodgkin, Gillian Ayres, Tony Bevan, Norman Dilworth, Angela Kingston, Andrew Bick, Leo Fitzmaurice, Philip Davenport, Inga Hamilton, My Tarpit, OWL Project, Anne Morrell, Polly Binns, David Walker and Willie Williams. He has worked with established commercial galleries such as Alan Cristea and Gimpel Fils, as well as public institutions such as Tate Liverpool and the Whitworth Art Gallery.

Martyn has exhibited widely in galleries in the UK and developed a number of socially engaged artist's projects, including Dialogue (London), Hospitals Talking Art (Aberdeen and London), and Enclosure (Banff, Canada).

Central to Martyn's ethos and practice is the enrichment of people's lives through an encounter with the visual arts - nurturing the conversation between art, artists and audience.
